A Florida man who used the abbreviation of his name as his vendor name has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking offenses.
Chaloner Saintillus
Chaloner Saintillus, 35, of Florida, distributed a variety of opioids including fentanyl, heroin, oxycodone, and oxymorphone through the “chlnsaint” vendor profile on the now-defunct Empire Market. Between August 2019 and August 2020, chlnsaint fulfilled more than 1,100 orders on Empire Market. Saintillus also made direct deals via Wickr under the username “showstill.”
Saintillus’ drug trafficking was put to an end by investigations conducted by the Northern California Illicit Digital Economy (NCIDE) Task Force.
During the investigations, the investigators made 12 undercover purchases from chlnsaint. Surveillance images obtained from the post offices used to mail the drugs to the investigators resulted in the identification of Saintillus. Saintillus’ debit card had also been used to pay for the postage used to mail some of the drug packages.
The investigators searched Saintillus’ residence on October 26, 2020. They seized large quantities of drugs, approximately $25,000 in XRP, a loaded firearm, and over 2,000 rounds of ammunition in a suitcase.
Saintillus pleaded guilty to 12 counts of distributing controlled substances on April 6, 2023. He was sentenced to 10 years and one month in prison on January 5, 2024.
